Anchorage Services Division

Anchorage Homeless Outreach Project - The Anchorage Homeless Outreach Program encompasses outreach specifically for potential Homeward Bound and Community bound residents as well as homeless individuals needing assistance.

Affordable Housing - The Affordable Housing program provides safe, affordable housing for below market rental prices to low income and homeless persons.

Community Bound - Community Bound is a complimentary component of Homeward Bound focusing on employment and housing.

Homeward Bound - Homeward Bound is a 25 bed transitional living program offering chronic homeless alcoholics the tools and resources needed to move from decades of homelessness to stable, meaningful, and personally satisfying reintegration into the community.

Speakers Bureau - The Speaker�s Bureau is an educational and advocacy forum for homeless persons to dialogue with the community.

Child Development Division

Early Head Start � The Early Head Start program serves children age birth to three and ensures children are healthy and thriving in all areas of child development.

Head Start � Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that serves child age three to five and their families and prepares children for kindergarten.

Child Development Center - The CDC provides full-day, year-round child care for families.

Parents as Teachers - PAT is an early childhood parent education and family support program designed to empower parents to give their children the nest possible start in life.

Community Development Division

BIRCH AmeriCorps � The Building Initiatives in Rural Community Health program enables members to engage in community service in the area of rural community health in partnership with local health providers.

Environmental Programs � RurAL CAP�s environmental programs strive to protect the beautiful state of Alaska and the people who rely on its resources.

FASD Prevention � The Early Decisions fetal alcohol syndrome disorder (FASD) project informs women of the dangers of drinking alcohol while pregnant.

RAVEN AmeriCorps � The Rural Alaska Village Environmental Network program enables members to provide environmental clean-up, preservation and education to communities in Alaska.

Rural Providers' Conference � The RPC is an annual sobriety conference with supports the continuation of the Alaska Native sobriety movement.

SIS AmeriCorps � The Students-In-Service program provides nursing and social work students the opportunity to earn a partial education award by completing community service hours.

VCMP (VISTA) � RurAL CAP�s Village Council Management Program provides full-time members to public agencies, nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups and public agencies, to create and expand programs that bring low-income individuals and communities out of poverty.

VISTA Energy Program - VEP members work to reduce the burden of energy costs in their rural communities, through projects like energy efficient education and home energy auditing.

Wellness and Substance Abuse Programs � RurAL CAP provides counseling services to employees and their families, rural youth leadership development, and FASD prevention.

Rural Housing and Planning Division

Denali Commission � RurAL CAP partners with the Denali Commission to provide critical utilities, infrastructure, job training, and economic development throughout Alaska.

Housing Services � Housing Services are provided to rural communities and low-income people.

Planning Services � RurAL CAP serves Alaskan communities by facilitating discussions between non-profit, state, federal, funding agencies, community and regional representatives to support priority community projects.

Self-Help Housing � The Self-Help Owner-Built homeownership program provides education and training to rural families who meet certain eligibility requirements.

Weatherization � RurAL CAP�s weatherization and rehabilitation programs refurbish older homes to make them warmer and more energy efficient.
